A lawyer for environmentalists and tribal activists told a federal judge that the government's approval of a big gold mine was flawed and would prohibit the Western Shoshone from practicing religious rites on a mountain in northern Nevada.

A national long-term health care workforce study indicates the need to increase funding for direct care workforce in Nevada nursing homes. A recent report, by the American Health Care Association , has found that vacancy rates among registered nurses (RNs) in Nevada's skilled nursing facilities is 20 percent - the 5th highest in the United States, according to a news release issued Monday.
