Dirt-bike track or landscaping? SILVER LAKE — Michael Pope contends the mounds of dirt on his property within the Silver Lake Business Park are part of an overall landscaping plan, not a make-shift dirt bike path.


Lack of landscaping seemed a glaring omission when including a story about a home's design.

In what looked like a scene from Alice in Wonderland -- Oregon Department Of Transportation has been dying the grass green. It's a landscaping experiment along I-5 south of Sutherlin. What was once dead brown grass is now various shades of green. The goal is to save water and money. ODOT officials estimate they can save $8,000 by not watering the grass. The dye-job costs $6,000 a year.
