CSC’s delivery centre in Blythewood, South Carolina, is sponsoring the state's first federally recognized apprenticeship program in the information technology field.


The number of unemployed workers in South Carolina was up by more than 16,000 in October, raising the state’s jobless rate to eight percent. The huge jump is the highest rate in the Palmetto state in nearly 25 years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina employment officials are taking steps to shore up the trust fund that pays benefits to out-of-work residents. The state has received a $15 million loan from the U.S. Labor Department to supplement the remaining $64 million in the unemployment insurance trust fund.
