Pennsylvania-based Resource Recovery has changed its original plans to build a municipal landfill in Rush Township, Pa., in favor of building an ethanol plant and smaller-scale landfill on the site, according to Biofuels International.


Pennsylvania is seeing signs that growth has returned to state revenue streams. The state Department of Revenue released August’s collections showing that state revenues came in at $1.8 billion for the month, or $7.1 million more than anticipated.

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania collected $1.8 billion in General Fund revenue in August, which was $7.1 million, or 0.4 percent, more than anticipated, Secretary of Revenue C. Daniel Hassell reported today. Fiscal year-to-date General Fund collections total $3.5 billion, which is $6 million, or 0.2 percent, above estimate.
